Duracool Brushable Caulk

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION: flashing grade caulk for use with Duracool roof coatings.

RECOMMENDED USES: As an excellent sealant for preparing roof system details such as seams, fasteners, penetrations, etc.

PRODUCT FEATURES: Ideal for sealing holes, cracks, flashing, joints, etc.
Superior adhesive and cohesive strength.
Plasticizer free caulk, will not dry and become brittle.
100% acrylic elastomeric caulk, fully compatible with other Duracool products.
Environmental safe, non-toxic, VOC complaint

SURFACE PREPARATION: All surfaces to be coated must be clean, dry, and free of oil, grease, or dirt. High pressure must be water washing with Duracool Roof Wash is suggested. Previously present coating must be checked for compatibility, before coating.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE: Duracool Brushable Caulk is ready to use. Thinning is not required or recommended. Apply with either a good quality synthetic or nylon bristle brush or long nap roller is recommended. Trowel: Metal or plastic trowel.

LIFE EXPECTANCY: 12 - 15 years

  • Tensile Strength at break: 250 psi at 70°F, 440 psi at 0°F (ASTM D-412)
  • Tensile Elongation at break: 550% at 75°F, 350% at 0°F (ASTM D-412)
  • Permeability: 5 perms / inch. 20 mils thick (ASTM E-398)
  • Flammability: Equal or better than products with Flame Spread Index 15 (ASTM E-162) UL 790 rating on Class Roof Deck Factory Mutual 1 over existing Class 1 BUR system
  • Service Temperature: -30° to 180°F
  • Coverage: 1.0 gallon per 100 sq. ft. yields 10 mils dry. 2.0 gallon per 100 sq. ft. yields 20 mils dry.
  • Recommended Coverage: Two coats (20 mils) dry thickness.
  • Minimum Application Temperature: 45° F DO NOT ALLOW PRODUCT TO FREEZE
  • Drying Time: 3 hours at 70° F, 50% RH, to sustain foot traffic
  • Packaging: 5 gallon plastic buckets 55 gallon drums
  • CAUTION: Do not apply within 2 hours of darkness, rain, fog, or freezing temperatures. DURACOOL BRUSHABLE CAULK must be completely dry before exposing to water or foot traffic. Keep DURACOOL BRUSHABLE CAULK containers covered when not in use. Dispose of containers in accordance to state and local environmental regulations. Keep away from children. If ingested, do not induce vomiting. Call a physician immediately.
