Duracool 1

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION: DURACOOL I is a white mastic coating, made with superior elastomeric acrylic polymers. The product contains strong rust inhibitors, which makes it very suitable for application on metal roofs with varying degrees of rust.

RECOMMENDED USES: Primarily designed for uses on metal surfaces.

PRODUCT FEATURES: Water based coating makes to easy to use, easy clean-up, non-toxic, VOC compliant, non-flammable.
Excellent adhesion to various metal substrates.
Highly flexible, even at low temperatures.
Will not crack, peel or flake over the life of the product.
Contains a strong mildewcide / fungicide.
Contains strong rust inhibitive pigments.
Reflects 90% of the heat and UV rays from the sun.
Excellent reflective properties reduce cooling costs.

SURFACE PREPARATION: All surfaces to be coated must be clean, dry and free of oil, grease, or dirt. High-pressure water washing with DURACOOL ROOF WASH is suggested. Previously present coating must be checked for good adhesion. Any loosely adhering coating must be removed and bare surface must be prepared and cleaned and checked for compatibility, before coating.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE: DURACOOL I is ready to use, thinning is not required or recommended.

Brush: A good quality synthetic or nylon bristle brush

Roller: Long nap roller is recommended

Spray: Airless spray equipment, spray tip #631, 2 gpm capacity

LIFE EXPECTANCY: 12 - 15 YEARS

  • Coverage: 1.0 gallon per 100 sq. ft. yields 10 mils dry. 2.0 gallon per 100 sq. ft. yields 20 mils dry.
  • Recommended Coverage: Two coats (20mils) dry thickness
  • Minimum Application Temperature: 45°F DO NOT ALLOW PRODUCT TO FREEZE
  • Drying Time: 3 hours at 70°F, RH, to sustain foot traffic
  • Packaging: 5 gallon plastic buckets 55 gallon drums
  • Caution: Do not apply within two hours of darkness, rain, fog, or freezing temperatures. DURACOOL 1 must be completely dry before exposing to water or foot traffic. Keep DURACOOL 1 containers covered when not in use. Dispose of containers in accordance to state and local environmental regulations. Keep away from children. If ingested, do not induce vomiting. Call a physician immediately.
